Care For Your Beddng
As with all bedding, there are certain characteristics of fabric type and construction to be considered for proper care. Our Excess Comfort® bedding also has certain characteristics to consider as outlined below.
Excess Comfort 100% Cotton Blankets -
Wash before first use.
Wash in cold water with mild detergent on the gentle cycle. No bleach or softeners. Tumble dry with low heat. Remove promptly. Use large front loading washer and dryer.
Due to the additional material incorporated in our blankets we recommend to wash and dry separately. They will not get lonely and will, in fact, enjoy their privacy.
We do not recommend using wash machines with a center agitator as they may cause damage to your new blankets.
All blankets have a tendency to ball up in a dryer. While tumbling dry on low heat we recommend removing and opening up a couple times to ensure even drying.
These 100% cotton blankets will shrink during washing. Not to worry as they are cut oversize to accommodate for shrinkage. These blankets will also become thicker during washing as the cotton awakens.
Excess Comfort 100% Cotton Sheets -
Wash before first use.
Machine wash separately in cold water with mild detergent on gentle cycle. No bleach or softeners. Tumble dry with low heat. Remove promptly. Warm iron if desired.
Due to the additional material incorporated in our sheets we suggest splitting up your sheet set during washing and drying to avoid over stuffing your machines.
They will wash better and dry more quickly.
Giving your sheets a good shaking out before placing in the dryer will reduce wrinkling and keep any creases from baking in.
All sheets have a tendency to ball up in a dryer. While tumbling dry on low heat we recommend removing and opening up once to ensure even drying.
For best results remove from the dryer immediately once dry and fold or put on the bed while still warm. This will keep wrinkles from setting in.
Even better, remove from dryer slightly damp and lay them flat on the bed to dry. This is the most effective way to control wrinkling and they will dry quickly.
Our flat sheet side edges are sewn on a bias angle. You may experience some slight curling during washing and drying. A good shaking out before placing in the dryer and drying separately will minimize any curling you may experience.
If you prefer a refined look you may consider ironing the pillowcases and head end portion of the flat sheet, 12 inches or so will do it. In this case, your sheets should be removed from the dryer damp for best results.
